Library Series

For my Library Series, I sketch drawings in pen and hand paint watercolors on top of an old card catalog. Each card is unique, and one of a kind, as I never draw or paint the same design twice, even if there are multiple catalog cards for a single book. The card catalog was a filing and referencing system used in Libraries around the country to keep an inventory of the books on hand. This is a project very close to my heart, as the card catalog I’m illustrating lived in the library of the elementary school I attended growing up, and that my Mom still teaches at today.

In repurposing the card catalog, I found a way to create environmentally friendly art while still honoring my Mom’s legacy as a librarian for over 16 years.

Below is a full catalog of my artworks, with new paintings added every week. Enjoy!
